Petersburg Water Service Line Customer Survey

Recent revisions to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) require that all community and non-transient, non-community public water systems must compile an inventory to identify the materials used for each water service line.

The goal of this effort is to either ensure that there is no lead piping in the water system, or to find out where lead may be located, so that it can then be removed and replaced.

To complete Petersburg Borough Water Utility’s inventory, the Department of Environmental Conservation Drinking Water Program (DEC-DW) will be sending out customer surveys to each water utility customer. The surveys will contain instructions on how to identify your service line material and submit your findings.

All surveys will need to be completed and submitted to DEC-DW. The easiest way to complete your survey is to submit your information on DEC’s Lead-Safe Alaska online portal at https://ak-lsli-adec.hub.arcgis.com There will also be print surveys available to submit your findings via email or USPS. For questions or assistance, please contact the lead service line inventory team at dec.dw.lsli@alaska.gov or 907-269-3056
