Motor Pool Shop Fire Damage Repairs

Notice is hereby given that Petersburg Borough will receive sealed bids for the Motor Pool Shop Fire Damage Repairs. The work includes cleaning, demolition, and replacement of fire-damaged materials, equipment, components, and associated repairs. Fire damaged materials include cold-formed steel and structural steel framing, wood wall and roof framing, wood roof sheathing, interior wall, and ceiling finishes, roof and wall insulation, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and fixtures, plumbing equipment and fixtures, and incidental components.
 
The substantial completion date for this project is September 30, 2021, with final completion no later than November 30, 2021.
 
Sealed bids will be received by the Petersburg Borough – Public Works Dept., Post Office Box 329, Petersburg, Alaska 99833, located in the Public Works Building, 303 S. 2nd Street, Petersburg, Alaska 99833 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, February 12th, 2021, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
 
The project plans may be obtained from the Petersburg Borough. Electronic documents will be provided at no cost upon request; for paper copies, a non-refundable fee of $50.00 made payable to the Petersburg Borough is required for each set of documents.  Additional charges will be required for special handling or delivery of the documents by means other than first class mail. 
 
Petersburg Borough’s Standard Specifications are available for free on the Borough’s website at www.ci.petersburg.ak.us. Paper copies are available for an additional fee of $60.00 made payable to Petersburg Borough.  To obtain a paper copy, call Public Works at  (907) 772-4430.
 
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier’s check, or certified check made payable to Petersburg Borough in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid price.
 
Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a Pre-Bid Teleconference that will be held on Wednesday, January 20th beginning at 1:00 pm AKST / 2 pm PST. This teleconference may be accessed by dialing 1-800-315-6338.  Callers will then need to enter the following code: 94339. Prospective bidders may arrange for an onsite tour of the facility subject to all Covid-19 protocols currently in effect. Petersburg Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make an award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the Borough.
