Invitation to Bid - Culvert Replacement Project - Public Works Shop Yard

Notice is hereby given that the Petersburg Borough will receive sealed bids for the CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT - PUBLIC WORKS SHOP YARD. The project generally consists of the install a new 120"∅ aluminum culvert (210 l.f.) to replace existing 60"∅ steel culvert that has failed. The work will be done in a fish stream documented by Alaska Department of Fish & Game. There will be required construction timing windows and also a stream bypass system for work in the stream bed. Depth of fill to bottom of the new culvert is approximately 40 feet. The existing excavated material will be stored in the east yard of the project. This excavated material will be reused in the fill, minus any unsuitable material.

The estimated construction cost for the base bid is between $500,000 & $1,000,000. All Work must be completed by September 15, 2022.

Sealed bids will be received by the Petersburg Borough, Post Office Box 329, Petersburg, Alaska 99833, located upstairs in the Municipal Building, 12 South Nordic Drive, Petersburg, Alaska 99833 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, March 11, 2022 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Assembly Chambers Conference Room.

CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

The Contract Documents may be obtained from the Petersburg Public Works Office, located at 303 South Second Street, Petersburg, Alaska 99833 (907) 772-4430. A non-refundable fee of $30.00 made payable to the Petersburg Borough is required for each set of contract documents. Additional charges will be required for special handling or delivery of the documents by means other than first class mail.  The Contract Documents may also be downloaded free of charge below:

Downloading Contract Documents from the Petersburg Borough website requires completing a contractor notification form to receive changes or addenda. Failure to fill out the form may adversely affect your proposal. It is the Offeror’s responsibility to insure that they have received all Addenda affecting this Solicitation.

Petersburg Standard Specifications (CPSS) are available for an additional fee of $60.00 made payable to the Petersburg Borough or available for free online. Additional charges will be required for special handling or delivery of the documents by means other than first class mail. All documents may be obtained at the Public Works office.

Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a Pre-Bid Conference that will be held in Petersburg on Wednesday, March 02, 2022, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Assembly Chambers. Attendance by teleconference will be available by calling 1-800-315-6338. Callers will need to enter the following access code: # 94339. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier’s check or certified check made payable to the Petersburg Borough in the amount of five percent of the total bid price.

The Petersburg Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the Borough.
